Mary Thomas, 98, of Hornersville, Mo., died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born Feb. 11, 1910, in Hornersville, she was the daughter of the late Warren H. and Betty Elizabeth Melton Baker.

In January of 1934, in Hornersville, she married Raymond Lacy Thomas, who preceded her in death in 1972. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Stella Ruth Thomas Ross and two children in infancy.

Survivors include one daughter, Jewette Thomas Battles and husband, Tom, of Kosciusko, Miss.; one son, Raymond "Bud" Thomas, Hornersville; Gene Thomas, of Strawberry, Ark.; eight grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 10, at the Hornersville Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Moore officiating.

Burial was in the Horner Cemetery at Hornersville.

Pallbearers were Paul Gene and Ricky Ross, Leslie and Russell Battles, Mike Gray, Jr., and Gene Guzman.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Hornersville was in charge of arrangements.
