Kathey Ann Wheat, 56, of Rector, Ark., died Thursday, March 6, 2008, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.

Born April 9, 1951, in Rector, she was the daughter of Rachel Marie Warren Clayton and the late Noah Oliver Clayton.

On Sept. 30, 1967, in Clay County, Ark., she married Larry Wheat, who survives.

Survivors also include two sons, Chad Wheat and wife, Charlotte, of Paragould, Ark., and Eric Wheat and wife, Stephanie, of Marmaduke, Ark.; her mother, Rachel Marie Clayton, of Marmaduke; four brothers, Darrell Clayton and wife, Bonnie, of Lafe, Ark., Randy Clayton, of Marmaduke, George Clayton and wife, Paula, of Paragould and David Clayton and wife, Jewell, of Rector; five sisters, Barbara Carpenter and husband, Marston and Peggy Sutherland and husband, Danny, of Rector, Ark., Linda Travis and husband, Stanton, of Paragould, Mary Raseberry and husband, Larry, of Ft. Worth, Texas and Lesa Taylor and husband, Jeff, of Atokia, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Friday, March 7, at the First General Baptist Church in Rector with the Rev. Josh Carpenter officiating.

Burial was in the Woodland Heights Cemetery at Rector.

Pallbearers are Todd and Dan Sutherland, Kevin Travis, Brett Clayton, Isac Sellers and Jimmy Sweaney, Jr.

Honorary pallbearer was George Green.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
