Jimmy Lewis Perkins, Sr., 65, of East Prairie, Mo., died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Born Dec. 26, 2942, in New Madrid, Mo., son of the late Willie Earl and Helen Louise Metheny Perkins, he was a U.S. Marine veteran and a truck driver.

On May 21, 1976, in Benton, Mo., he married Mary Yates, who survives.

Survivors also include four sons, David Perkins and wife, Jeanette and Johnie Perkins and wife, Theresa, all of Sikeston, Mo., Richard Shull, of Greenville, Ind., and Jimmy Perkins and wife, Brandy, of Scott City, Mo.; two daughters, Sandra Johnson, of Michigan City, Mo., and Virginia Shull, of Sikeston; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Perkins and one grandson, Scott Moyer, Jr.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, March 1, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Burial is in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo.
