Born Feb. 4, 1928, in Caruthersville, son of the late Carmel and Bertha Wyatt Hepler, Sr., he was a WWII veteran, owner and operator of Hepler Machine Shop and a member of the Nazarene Church.
On Jan. 13, 1950, in Piggott, Ark., he married Marjorie June Allen, who preceded him in death on March 26, 2005. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, David and Ed Hepler.
Survivors include one son, Mike Hepler and wife, Vickie, of Caruthersville; two daughters, Edna Carnell Turnbow and husband, William, of Caruthersville and Joan Arnold and husband, John, of Puxico, Mo.; one brother, Tom Hepler, of St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters, Clarene Clayton and Dorothy Carter, both of Herculaneum, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Mike Hepler and April Davis, both of Caruthersville, Scott Arnold, of Bernie, Mo., Sue Arnold and Michael Todd, of Puxico. Larry Carnell, of Senath, Mo., David Carnell, of Blytheville, Ark., Michele Henton, of Doniphan, Mo., Sandy Dever, of Livermore, Ky., and Danny Worsham, of Florida; 31 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., today, Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Caruthersville Community Church, formerly the Nazarene Church, with Bro. William Quillen officiating.
Burial with military honors was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Michael Hepler, Larry and David Carnell, Scott and Jason Arnold and Danny Worsham.
John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
