Mary Kate Gunn, 85, of Hayti, Mo., died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at Hayti.
Born March 9, 1922, in Newbern, Tenn., daughter of the late Amunial Brown and Vannie Lucille Belch Pardon, she was co-owner of Gunn's Grocery and a member of the Dry Bayou Baptist Church.
On Jan. 12, 1940, in Chicago, Ill., she married Carl W. Gunn, who survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Shirley Martin and Shelby Wilson and husband, Jimmy Lee, all of Hayti; two sisters, Maxine Harris and Peggy Sloan, both of Sikeston, Mo.; one brother, Charles Pardon, of Virginia; four grandchildren, Teresa Hayes and Richie Wilson, both of Portageville, Mo., Scotty Martin, of Hayti and Juahnuna Helms, of Little Rock, Ark., and five great-grandchildren, Lee and Britton Wilson, both of Portageville, Brandon and Adam Martin, both of Hayti and Carrie Helms, of Little Rock.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Bill Golden and Irvin, Carl, Joe and Theodore Pardon and three sisters, Margaret Sherell Gunn, Ruby Kary and Flossie Riddle.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Monday, Feb. 25, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with Bro. Bobby Bradford officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Scotty Martin, Richie and Britton Wilson, Tony and Gary Hayes and Chris Wooten.
