Ruby May Woods, 84, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo.

Born April 3, 1923, in Conran, Mo., daughter of the late Jessie and Ludie Weatherford Bartlett, she was of the Baptist faith.

In May of 1944, in New Madrid, Mo., she married Bill Woods, who survives.

Survivors also include one daughter, Sandee Wigginton and husband, Lee, of Caruthersville; two sisters, Nellie Heironimus and Marcella Russell; two daughters-in-law, Billie Jean Woods, of Belleville, Ill., and Rose Cheatham, of New Madrid, Mo.; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two children, Bill Woods, Jr., and Jim Cheatham; two sisters, Inez Thompson and Bertha Batson; three brothers, Jessie, Bill and Robert Bartlett and one granddaughter, Debbie Cheatham.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 28, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.

Burial was in the Portageville Cemetery at Portageville, Mo.

Pallbearers were Lee and Aaron Wigginton, Mark Finfrock, Matthew Spence, John Figgins and Eric Albrecht.
