Sylvia Hinze

Sylvia I. Hinze, 84, of Malden, Mo., died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, at Golden Living Nursing Center in Malden.

Born May 4, 1923, in Risco, Mo., daughter of the late James L. Oliver and Barbara Kathryn Burrows Oliver, she was a homemaker and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Malden.

On April 30, 1939, in Malden, she married Norman Hinze, who preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 1995. She was also preceded in death by one son, Charles Edward Hinze.

Survivors include one son, Don Hinze and wife, Murle, of Kokomo, Ind.; two daughters, Bonnie Curtis and husband, Jerry, of Rixeyville, Va., and Bettie Dowdy and husband, Bill, of Chesterfield, Mo.; one sister, Jewel Buckley, of Piggott, Ark.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John L. Bowlby officiating.

Burial will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton, Mo.
