Virgil Jackson

Virgil O. Jackson, 84, of Kennett, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born Dec. 15, 1923, in Marmaduke, Ark., he was the son of the late W.C. and Carrie Pigmon Jackson.

On Sept. 3, 1943, in Piggott, Ark., he married Bertha Hobbs, who survives.

Survivors also include four sons, Junior Jackson, Billy Jackson, Sr., Donald Jackson and wife, Kathy, and Billy Jackson, Jr., all of Kennett; four daughters, Betty Moore and husband, Len, of Tupelo, Miss., Louise Busby and husband, Joe, of Holcomb, Mo., Peggy Crawford and husband, Palmer, of Rockford, Ill., and Donna Davis and husband, Richard, of Kennett; one sister, Bernice Fuller, of Kennett; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren and one special grandchild, Tyler Jackson.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Herman and Elvis Jackson; one sister, Gladys Reeves and three grandchildren, Richard Davis, Jr., Kenny Jackson and Christy Jackson.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., today, Tuesday, Feb. 12,a t the McDaniel Funeral Home chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Randy Wiseman officiating.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Richard Davis, Benny Hogan, Danny Jackson, Ronnie Turner, Ronnie Nelson and Terry Jackson.
