Michael Wayne Talkington, 52, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at Memphis, Tenn.

Born Sept. 13, 1955, in Hayti, Mo., son of Ellen Engelhardt Talkington and the late Billy A. Talkington, he was a general contractor.

He married Sheryl A. Shaw in Clarendon, Ark., who survives.

Survivors also include one son, Michael Talkington, of Corinth, Mo.; one daughter, Farrah Boyd, of Caruthersville; one brother, Crickett Talkington and wife, Michelle, of Angola, Ind., and his mother, Ellen Talkington, of Caruthersville.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Summerford.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 10, at the Kinfolks Ridge Baptist Church near Caruthersville with Bros. Billy Booth and Robert Cox and the Rev. Dwight Chapman officiating.

Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were Damon Dale, Nathan McClendon, Joe Pattillo, Clint Moody, Roger Watkins, Mike Shaw, John Gardner and Keith Robinson.

John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
