Mike Cunningham, 82, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Germantown, Tenn.

Born Feb. 4, 1925, in Caruthersville, son of the late Howard Putnam and Lorene Ellis Cunningham, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII. He was a 1942 graduate of Caruthersville High School and South East Missouri College.

In 1955, he married Joyce Claire Huffman, who survives.

Survivors also include two sons, Putnam Cunningham, of Collierville, Tenn., and Jon Cunningham, of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Susan Haddad, of Upper St. Clair, Pa., and three grandchildren,

He was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Putnam Cunningham, Jr.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville with the Rev. Paul Currie officiating.

Pallbearers were Greg Crysler, Drew Cunningham, Tommy Taylor, Jack Tipton, Jr., Trey Hayden and John Mahan.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
