Shirley Elder

Shirley Ann Elder, 63, of Malden, Mo., died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at her residence.

Born Jan. 15, 1945, in Gray Ridge, Mo., daughter of the late Charles Elmer and Elsie Mae Keating Carter, she was a member of the Stokelan Drive Christian Church in Malden.

On Sept. 5, 1965, in Campbell, Mo., she married Billy Wayne Elder, who survives.

Survivors also include one son, Jeromy Elder and wife, Leslie, of Farmington, Ark.; one daughter, Jo Chesher, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three brothers, Charles Carter, of Groveton, Texas, Edward Carter, of Wilson, Ark., and David Carter, of West Bend, Wis.; two sisters, Betty Moore, of Campbell and Bonnie Gross, of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren, Hannah Chesher, of Oklahoma City, and Katie Terrill and Charlie and Alisyn Elder, all of Farmington, Ark., and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Wayne Carter and one sister, Phyllis Ruesler.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Stokelan Drive Christian Church in Malden with Bro. Dan Hargrave officiating.
