James R.T. McGee, 84, of Portageville, Mo., died today, Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Aug. 10, 1923, in Caruthersville, Mo., son of the late James Anthony and Lela Florence McGee, he was a retired farmer and a member of the Risco Baptist Church.
On March 1, 1942, in New Madrid, Mo., he married Pauline Byrd who survives him.
Other survivors include two sons, Mike McGee, and wife, Mary, of Portageville, Mo., Jerry McGee and wife, Mary, of New Madrid; two daughters, Brenda MacLachlan of Springfield, Mo., and Teresa Morris and husband, Dennis, of Dothan, Ala.; one sister, Katherine Gaines of Yukon, Okla., nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Morrison, and three sisters; Gertrude Malugen, Clarine Howell, and Ruby Medlin.
Visitation was held at 6 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 27, at Bradshaw Chapel in Malden with Rev. Gene Lancaster officiating.
Burial will follow in the Rosewood Cemetery at Malden.
