Margie Tohill Spain, 86, of Roswell, New Mexico, formerly of Hayti, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at the Mission Arch Care Center in Roswell.
Born June 28, 1921, in Hayti, daughter of the late Lon A. and Nannie Florence Mitchell Tohill, she was a retail clerk and a member of the Hayti United Methodist Church.
On May 17, 1941, she married John William Spain, who preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 1996.
Survivors include one daughter, Tipton Vandewart and husband, Rick, of Flying H, New Mexico; three sisters, Mary Faye Sutton, of Blytheville, Ark., Alice Ragesdale, of Dunedin, Fla., and Faye Young, of Cordova, Tenn.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Dwight Chapman officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Sonny Turnage, Steve Watkins, W.T. Davidson, Glen Whitener, Brian Irions and Martin Ray.
Honorary pallbearers were Wesley Cole, Jean Turnage and Barbara DeWeese.
