Vivian Carolyn "Granny" Stokes, 91, of Gideon, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark.
Born April 2, 1916, in Fairdealing, Mo., daughter of the late Mack and Annabel King Moore, she was a member of the Church of Christ in Gideon.
On Oct. 2, 1934, she married William Hershel Stokes, who preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1980. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Everett and Jack Moore.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen Jones and husband, R.J., of Maumelle, Ark., and Charlotte Warren and husband, Jerry, of Portageville, Mo.; two sons, Dwight Stokes and wife, Nancy, of Malden, Mo., and Gary Stokes, of Gideon; two sisters, Bernice Cadenhead and Louise Coleman, both of St. Louis, Mo.; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., today, Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Gideon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with Kevin Lawrence officiating.
Burial will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton, Mo.
