Theodora Allen

Theodora "Dody" Allen, 66, of Newbern, Tenn., formerly of Bragg City, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at Newbern.

Born January 13, 1942, in Bragg City, daughter of the late Theodore and Lexie Myracle Allen, she donated many hours to the St. Jude's Research Facility, helping on numerous fund raising activities. Accomplishments other than raising her two sons was singing. While singing with the Keynoters, they enjoyed singing on the Ed Sullivan Show. Later in her career, she sang backup and opened for various acts.

Survivors include her loving companion of several years, Larry Warbritton, of Newbern; two sons, Scott Fray, of Nashville, Tenn., and Jeff Fray, of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Shirley Newton, of Panama City, Fla., and Lonell Hunt, of St. Louis, Mo.; one brother, Larry Allen, of St. Louis, Mo., and two grandchildren, Hannah and Tyler Fray, of Nashville.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Francis Mayberry.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Friday, Jan. 18, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Pemberton officiating.
