Eugene Huckaba

Eugene Allen Huckaba, 85, of Campbell, Mo., died Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at Springfield, Ill.

Born May 13, 1922, in Micola, Mo., son of the late Henry Lee and Pearl Phoebia Foster Huckaba, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during WWII. He was a dispatcher of Ark-Mo Power Company and a member of the First Baptist Church in Campbell.

On Dec. 23, 1941, in Kennett, he married Virginia Christine Channell, who preceded him in death on June 14, 2004. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Charlie Huckaba and one sister, Kathrine Ann Goins.

Survivors include three sons, Donald Eugene Huckaba, of Florence, Ala., Dennis Allen Huckaba, of Springfield, Ill., and Jeffrey Glenn Huckaba, of Fredricktown, Mo.; one brother, Orval C. Huckaba, of Sterling, Ill.; one sister, Linda Trout, of Broseley, Mo.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., today, Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell with the Rev. Steve Bricker officiating.

Burial was in the Tucker Cemetery at Campbell.
