Althea Massey, 98, of Kennett, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at National HealthCare in Kennett.

Born Sept. 9, 1909, in Yellville, Ark., she was the daughter of the late William and May Flippin Hudson.

On July 30, 1937, in Yellville, she married Winston Nevelle Massey, who preceded her in death in 1982. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Boss Hudson; one sister, Mary Lou White and two grandchildren, Debra Kay and Robert Kyle Watson.

Survivors include two daughters, Ann Lerraine and husband, Bill, and Mary Lee Watson, all of Key West, Fla; one sister, Dorothy Lee Kelso, of Little Rock, Ark.; two grandchildren, Stephen "Kent" Watson and David Allen Meek and two great-grandchildren, Jessica Renea and Christopher Kyle Watson.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., today, Tuesday, Jan. 15, in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett with the Rev. Gary Carter officiating.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
