Born March 12, 1920, in Russellville, Ark., daughter of the late John Ira and Zittie Ada McAnulty Choate, she was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church in Marston.
On Feb. 24, 1936, she married John H. Alley, who preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 1987. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Carl and David Alley; one daughter, Linda Faye Alley; three brothers, John, Brooks and Bill Choate; one sister, Helen Delaney and two great-grandchildren, Lacy Nunnery and Alex Nappo.
Survivors include seven sons, James Alley and wife, Jane, of Cumberland City, Tenn., Robert Alley and wife, Paulene, of Interlochen, Mich., Jerry Alley and wife, Gail, of Marston, Troy Alley and wife, Shirley, of Senath, Mo., Don Alley and wife, Monica, of Lilbourn, Mo., Gary Alley, of Sikeston, Mo., and Mike Alley, of Blytheville, Ark.; two daughters, Betty Hindmon and husband, Everett, of Belleville, Mich., and Brenda Mills and husband, George, of Butler, Ind.; one brother, Raymond Choate; daughters-in-law, Ruth Walker, of Delphi, Ind., and Linda Alley, of Trenton, Tenn.; 31 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 5, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 6, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Baldwin officiating.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers will be the church family.
