Funeral services for Frank (Boots) Johnson, Jr., formerly of Caruth and Kennett, Missouri, were conducted on December 29, 2007 at Palm Mortuary in Henderson, NV. Interment will be in the Veterans Cemetery at Boulder City, Nevada.
Son of the late Frank and Jane Horner, he was born January 31, 1930, at Caruth, Missouri and was married to Joan Bray (former secretary, Kennett Board of Education for over 10 years) on November 6, 1955. He remained a member of the Tobin Park Methodist Church in El Paso, Tx.
During his lifetime, he was active in Little League baseball programs, Optimist Club International, Boy Scouts of America as well as the YMCA Indian Guides and was a scholarship donor to University of Nevada Las Vegas athletic program. He was retired from United States Civil Service and from Hertz, Inc.
Survivors include his wife, Joan B. Johnson, Henderson; son, Kent Johnson and wife, Christine; as well as two grandchildren, Stephanie Leigh and Scott Daniel Johnson. Four nieces: Marilyn Johnson Atwill, Deering; Gwen Johnson Keating, Kennett; Jackie J. Craighead, LaCrosse, Wis.; and Sue Johnson MacKenzie, Florida; as well as several cousins, including Jimmy and Bill Horner of Kennett, and many friends country-wide.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers: John B. Johnson, Grand Blanc, Michigan; William H. (Bill) Johnson, Senath and Winfred (Sis) Johnson of Kennett.
