L. G. Gamble, 71, of Harvey, Ill., formerly of Hayti, Mo., died Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey.
Born Jan. 17, 1936, in Greenwood, Miss., son of the late Elder and Sendie Hugiens Gamble, he was employed as a factory worker.
Survivors include seven sisters, Julia Rowe, of Carbondale, Ill., Lucinda Royal, of Hayti, Willie Mae West and Martha Gamble, both of Calumet City, Ill., Rosie Thomas and husband, Percy, of Markham, Ill., and Florence Gamble and Juanita Hill, both of Chicago, Ill., and three brothers, Leroy Lockridge and wife, Martha, of Carbondale, Willie Lee Gamble, of Chicago, and Robert Gamble and wife, Avis, of Racine, Wis.
Funeral services were held at noon, Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Leroy Lockridge officiating.
Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Willie L., Robert and Dwight Gamble, Broderick and Roderick Rowe and Bruce Hall.
