Merwin P. Holsworth

Merwin P. "Lefty" Holsworth, 75, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at the Hernando Pasco Hospice Center in Inverness, Fla.

Born April 14, 1932, in Pontiac, Mich., son of the late Claude and Hazel Blanchard Holsworth, he was a brick mason and construction foreman.

Survivors include his children, Don Holsworth and wife, Esther, Tim, Mark, Kevin and David Holsworth and Robin and Michael Evans; four brothers, Willis, George, Claude and Herbert Holsworth and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five sisters, Beulah Hayward, Hazel Huston, Joyce Rowe, Laura Benecke and Martha Holsworth and one brother, Paul Holsworth.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville, Mo.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
