Johnnie Durrell Smith, 61, of Gideon, Mo., died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Born Sept. 7, 1946, in Braggadocio, Mo., son of the late John and Edith Faye Bradley Smith, he was owner/operator of a gas and service station in Gideon. He attended the First Church of Nazarene in Malden, Mo.

On Dec. 18, 1981, in Clarkton, Mo., he married Sandra Faye Williams, who survives.

Survivors also include four sons, Johnnie Durrell Smith, Jr., and wife, Carol Ann, of Marysville, Calif., Eddy Moore and wife, Donna, of Gideon, Scott Moore and wife, Pennie, of Ft. Worth, Texas and Jerry Moore and wife, Traci, of Fairdealing, Mo.; one daughter, Heather Whitaker and husband, Bill, of Ft. Worth; one brother, Don Smith, of Gideon; four sisters, Lorene Gattis, of Kennett, Dorothy Rushing, of Alexander, Ind., Carolyn Shelton, of Mountain Grove, Mo., and Giva Coleman, of Malden; 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Doyle Smith.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 23, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Henry Shelley and John Bowlby officiating.

Burial will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton, Mo.
