Loretta Burchard

Loretta Faye Burchard, 65, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, at Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Born March 14, 1942, in Caruthersville, daughter of the late Arthur Columbus and Ella Mae Curtis Thomas, she was employed at Brown Shoe Company and Wal-Mart and was a member of the Wesleyan Church.

On March 10, 1961, she married Carl Burchard, who survives.

Survivors also include two sons, Curtis Burchard and wife, Cinzia, of Temecula, Calif., and Kevin Burchard, of Sikeston, Mo.; one daughter, Dawn Pendergrass, of Caruthersville; three sisters, Lois Greer, of Caruthersville, Barbara Paluso, of Altus, Okla., and Linda Tolar, of Johnson City, Tenn.; two brothers, Benny Thomas, of Blytheville, Ark., and Gary Thomas, of Paragould, Ark., and six grandchildren, Casey and Christopher Burchard, both of Temecula, Kayla Burchard, of Caruthersville, Garrett, and Abby Burchard and Clayton Mize, all of Sikeston.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Moore.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Wesleyan Church in Caruthersville with the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.

Pallbearers were David Brogdon, Dustin Domer, Rickey and Mark Brandon, Charlie Huddleston and Casey Burchard.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
