Charles Lassiter, 95, of Holcomb, Mo., died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Born March 3, 1912, in Pontotoc, Miss., he was the son of the late Donas Houston and Corro Lea Watson Lassiter.

On March 22, 1934, he married Susie Estelle Hicks, who preceded him in death on March 1, 1945. He was also preceded in death by one son, Thomas Richard Lassiter; one brother, Carl Lassiter; three sisters, Jinny Lincoln, Mary Dee and Willa and two grandchildren, Jerry Shane Lassiter and Rodrick Emmons.

Survivors include three sons, Marion Lassiter and wife, Julie, of Collierville, Tenn., Wayne Lassiter and wife, Virginia, of West Memphis, Ark., and Jerry Lassiter and wife, Willa, of Southaven, Miss.; two daughters, Anita Emmons and husband, H.D., of Holcomb and Doris Evans and husband, Herman, of Kennett; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., today, Tuesday, Dec. 18, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.

Burial was in the Maple Cemetery at Caruthersville, Mo.

Pallbearers were Paul, Kent and Brandon Lassiter and Keith, Rodney and Dwight Emmons.
