Charles Williams

Charles Moore Williams, 64, of Pattison, Texas, formerly of Wardell, Mo., died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, at his residence.

Born March 16, 1943, in Madison County, Tenn., son of Hazel Upton Williams and the late Newton Emmett Williams, he attended schools in Madison County and was a graduate of Lambuth College and Southeast Missouri State University. He was an educator in Pemiscot County at North Pemiscot's Peach Orchard elementary School and as principal at the Special School District.

On March 15, 1964, he married Barbara Sue Cottrell, who survives.

Survivors also include one daughter, Quida Williams, of Brookshire, Texas; two sons, Charles M. Williams, Jr., and Thomas J. Williams, both of Houston, Texas; his mother, Hazel Williams, of Brookshire; one brother, Mark Williams and wife, Charlotte, of Flower Branch, Ga.; one grandson, Logan Williams and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Emmett Williams III.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 8, at Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Brookshire, Texas with Father David DuBois officiating.

Burial was in the Pattison Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Travis Berryman, Leo VanPoppel, Morgan Williams, Graeme Seibel, John Gabourel, Kermit Cotrell, Dale McMillian and Danny Davis.
