Kenneth A. Cooper, 84, of Jonesboro, Ark., formerly of Kennett, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at Skill Care Nursing Home in Jonesboro.

Born April 24, 1923, in Marmaduke, Ark., son of the late Joseph Arnold and Ira Lyrl Newsom Cooper, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in WWII, a graduate of Kennett High School and was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.

On Oct. 15, 1949, he married Olga M. Harris, who preceded him in death on May 18, 2006. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Betty Sue Kaiser.

Survivors include one brother, Chester Cooper, of Florissant, Mo., and one sister, Vera Craft, of Jonesboro.

Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m., today, Tuesday, Dec. 11, in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
