Joy Rose Seward, 74, of Belleville, Ill., died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Born Nov. 20, 1933, in Senath, Mo., daughter of the late Charles and Hettie Pauline Bailey Jaques, she was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Belleville.
Survivors include four children, Sheila King and husband, Dave, of St. Charles, Mo., Vicki Stanley, of Norwalk, Ohio, John Seward and wife, Lisa, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Vinita Padgett and husband, Don, of Swansea, Ill.; one brother, Bill Jaques and wife, Luella, of Paducah, Ky.; one sister, Regina Stokes and husband, David, of Paducah; grandchildren, Michelle Hardcastle, Jesse and Sara King, Larissa, Shaya and Malia Seward, Kira Jasnoch, Brad and Diane Hall, Rachel and Lyndsay Padgett and D.J. Stanley; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clois John.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 10, at the Kurrus Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Raynaud officiating.
Burial will follow in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God Church in Belleville.
