James Martin Riggs, 82, of Overland, Mo., died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007, at St. Louis, Mo.

Born Jan. 27, 1925, in Senath, Mo., son of the late Andrew and Beulah Goswick Riggs, he was a U.S. Navy and Air Force veteran.

He married Grapel Thompson, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Aaron, Eldon and Donald Riggs and four sisters, Ollie and Lorraine Riggs, Erma Duke and Louvella Roark.

Survivors include one daughter, Helen Roman, of Phoenix, Ariz.; one step-son, Ted Wayne Moody, of Paragould, Ark.; one brother, Roy Riggs, of Senath; one sister, Andalee Gebhardt, of O'Fallon, Mo., and two grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 5, in the McGrew Cemetery with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating,

Pallbearers were Ted Moody, Mark Gebhardt, and Mike, Tim, Keith and Mark Riggs.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath was in charge of arrangements.
