James W. Edwards, 88, of Broken Arrow, Okla., formerly of Kennett, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007, at Cedar Crest Nursing Home in Broken Arrow.

Born Nov. 4, 1919, in Keiser, Ark., son of the late William Jackson and Vera May Cargel Edwards, he was a U.S. Army veteran.

He married Mittie May Boswell, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include one daughter, Barbara McCarn and husband, Billy, of Broken Arrow; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Scott and David Anthony McCarn, both of Broken Arrow and four great-grandchildren, Anthony Clayton, Dalton Reed, Travis Cole and Logan McCarn, all of Broken Arrow.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., today, Wednesday, Dec. 5, in the Mississippi County Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Osceola, Ark. with the Rev. Jay Weaver officiating.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
