Mary Tipton

Mary Etta Tipton, 69, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 30, 2007, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Mo.

Born July 2, 1938, in Qulin, Mo., daughter of the late James Dalton and Nettie Lee Waters Self, she was a homemaker, a member of the Oglesville Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star and was a Worthy Matron.

On March 7, 1980, in Qulin, Mo., she married Lynn Tipton, who survives.

Survivors include one son, Michael Griffin, of St. Louis, Mo.; two daughters, Susan M. Witten, of Arnold, Mo., and Beth McLane, of Poplar Bluff; two step-sons, Rickie Tipton, of Poplar Bluff and Russell Tipton, of Wappapello, Mo.; one step-daughter, Lee Ann Brannum, of Poplar Bluff; three sisters, Joan McMeans, of Qulin, Judy Braschler, of Doniphan, Mo., and Ruth Robertson, of Arnold, Mo.; one brother, Danny Self, of Qulin; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

Landess Funeral Home of Campbell was in charge of arrangements.
