Johnny Goodman, 72, of Hayti, Mo., died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti.

Born March 28, 1935, in Steele, Mo., son of the late Effie Kay Goodman, he was a veteran of the Missouri National Guard and a mechanic.

Survivors include five children, Johnny Goodman, Jr., Teresa Kay Hale and Billy Goodman, both of Granite City, Mo., Jo Ann Wood, of Milford, Maine, and Cathy Naifeh, of Clarksville, Tenn.; four step-children, Cathy Stults, of Scott City, Mo., Phillip Matty, of Caruthersville, Mo., Karen Klutner, of New Hamburg, Mo., and Laura Phillips, of Perryville, Mo.; companion, Freda Mathenia, of Hayti and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 2, at the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti with Brother Doug Wahls officiating.

Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.

Pallbearers were Troy and Jeffery Mathenia, Dustin Hale, John Jones, Ryan Goodman, David Lester and Chris Naifeh.

Honorary pallbearer was Sam Naifeh.
