Dessie Oxley

Dessie Lee Oxley, 78, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Born Oct. 12, 1929, in Bernie, Mo., daughter of the late Thomas Jasper and Dena Mae Lowery Swinney, she was a homemaker and of Baptist faith.

On June 12, 1948, in Piggott, Ark., she married Norman Oxley, who preceded her in death on July 30, 2007. She was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Survivors include six children, Judy Kay Altman, Larry Eugene and Dickie Ray Oxley, all of Poplar Bluff, Jerry Vaughn Oxley, of Seamore, Mo., Gloria Ann Nash, of Doniphan, Mo., and Nancy Lee Ray, of Warrensburg, Mo.; three sisters, Elsie Swinney, Lola Redman and Pauline Carman, all of Campbell; 15 grandchildren, William Altman, Lara Alford, Kris Nash, Starla Rigsby, Lori McBride, Amy Ray Czabke, Lisa Rainbolt, Bridgett Morgan, Sherry Beebee, Amber Keele, Matt and Megan Nicoli, Ashley Oxley, Carman Null and Angie Hodge and 14 great-grandchildren, Nick Rice, Madison Altman, Elizabeth Morgan, Kylie and Mattia Null, Jerry and Alicia McBride, Laney and Cassey Rainbolt, James Wyatt Rigsby, Kent James and Kameron Nash, and Austin Wyatt and Brandon Michael King.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darren Baker officiating.

Burial will follow in the City Cemetery at Poplar Bluff.
