Allen Buster "Pappy" Smith, 84, of Hayti, Mo., died Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at his residence.
Born Oct. 26, 1923, in Idabel, Okla., son of the late Walter and Ily Jane Smith, he was a truck driver.
On Oct. 5, 1940, in Marston, Mo., he married Martha Frances Gunn, who preceded him in death on Oct. 17, 1993.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Hunt and husband, Corkey, of Hayti and Janie Brandenburg and husband, Thomas E. "Tater", of Finley, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Danny Hunt, of Longview, Texas, Tammy Hall and Kenneth Hunt, both of Hayti and Lonnie Hunt, of Dyersburg, Tenn., and 10 great-grandchildren, Trey Anderson, Leah, Destiny, Heath, Meghan and Colt Hunt, Stevie "Polecat, Derek and Hayla Hall and Christi Mayberry.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with Bro. Doug Wahls officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Bradley and Justin Cline, Colt, Derek and Stevie Hunt and Roger Weeks.
