William Luby Lewis, 93, of Gideon, Mo., former resident of Wardell, Mo., died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at Gideon Care Center.
Born Sept. 1, 1914, in Morriston, Ark., son of the late William Allen and Georgia Hyatt Lewis, he was a farmer.
On July 27, 1935, in Arkansas, he married Vivian Bizzell, who preceded him in death on Jan. 27, 1992. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Eugene and Ernest Lewis; one daughter, Helen Dodd and three sisters, Zelma Epperson, Verta Griffith and Tressia Sledge.
Survivors include four sons, William E. Lewis and wife, Nellie, of Desoto, Mo., Jerry Lewis and wife, Marceen, of Dittmer, Mo., Cecil Lewis and wife, Janie, of Wardell and Robert Lewis and wife, Diane, of Bragg City, Mo.; one daughter, Mary Keown and husband, George, of Gideon; a son-in-law, Gene Dodd, of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Wardell.
Burial was in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton, Mo.
