Josephine Bristol Goldsmith, 99, of Kennett, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett.
Born Nov. 10, in Artesia, New Mexico, daughter of the late Frank and Sarah Ann Bridges Bristol, she was a 1926 graduate of Campbell High School, she attended Draughon's School of Business in Memphis, and was employed by attorney C.D. Bray in Campbell, the Pullman Company in Chicago, Ill., by the prosecuting attorney's office in Little Rock, Ark., and by Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kennett, Daughters of the American Revolution in Kennett and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 92 in Campbell.
On Dec. 10, 1941, she married Dr. A.O. Goldsmith, who preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 2005. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sarah Sue Goldsmith; two brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include three grandsons, Daniel Thorpe, of Ben Lomond, Calif., and Douglas and Miles Thorpe, both of Baton Rouge, La.; a sister-in-law, Grace Bristol, of Kerrville, Texas and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 28, in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett with the Rev. Jocelyn VanBuskirk officiating.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
