Jayson "Jay" Payne, 96, of Qulin, Mo., died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007 at his residence.
Born Dec. 10, 1910 at Gamaliel, Ark., son of the late William Henry and Julia Henson Payne, he was a member of the Oglesville General Baptist Church.
On June 3, 1933 in Malden, Mo., he married Pauline House, who survives the home.
Other survivors include three sons, J.A. Harper of Peveley, Mo., William Payne of West Point, Tenn., and Lloyd Payne of Qulin; four daughters, Cora Lee Hill of McCroy, Ark., and Nora Lee West, Wilma Berger, and Barbara Head, all of Qulin; one brother, Ralph Payne of Malden; two sisters, Ruthie Heath of Gideon, Mo., and Rose Till of Kennett, Mo.; 31 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Ann Payne; four grandchildren, Ricky Harper, Eddie Hill, Linda West, and Bonnie Zinkle; four brothers, Bob, Roy, Lloyd, and Merle Payne; two sisters, Ruby and Nellie Payne.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 24, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 25, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Allen Leutent officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery.
