Born Jan. 18, 1913, in Olive Hill, Tenn., son of the late Jack and Maude Wade Russell, he was a U.S. veteran, a truck driver for Ellsworth Trucking and a member of the American Legion.
In Sept. of 1959, in Caruthersville, Mo., he married Ella Mae Wooten, who preceded him in death on May 30, 1993. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Grace Smith and one brother, Mack Russell.
Survivors include three children, Robert Russell and wife, Vickie, of Springfield, Mo., Bryan Russell, of Hayti and Sidney Pavelka and husband, Nick, of Sikeston, Mo.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., today, Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Kenny Durham officiating.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele, Mo.
Pallbearers were Eric Rainey, Nicholas Pavelka, Robert Johnson, Robert Russell, Jr., Bryan Russell and Martin Ray.
