Henry Thomas Statler, 83, of Kennett, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Born Nov. 26, 1923, in Manila, Ark., son of the late Walter A. and Ruby Shirley Statler, he was a U.S. Marine veteran, having served in WWII.

On March 3, 1953, he married Martha Manning, who survives.

Survivors also include two sons, Phillip Statler, of Kennett and Roger Statler and wife, Elaine, of Jonesboro, Ark.; one daughter, Latheda Gail Murrell, of Kennett; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Omar, John and Robert Lance Statler and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 19, at the Manning No. 1 Cemetery at Walnut Ridge, Ark. with the Rev. Kevin Swain officiating.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
