Sharon Kay Carter Gum, 56, of Clarkton, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Born Sept. 24, 1951, in Holcomb, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Herschel and Violet Brewer Thompson.
Survivors include her companion, Robert Caples, of Clarkton, Mo.; a son, Lance Carter, of Kennett, Mo.; two sisters, Vera Poyner, of East Prairie, Mo., and Ann Brown, of Dixon, Mo.; eight brothers, Charles Thompson, of Clarkton, Mo., Dexter Thompson, of Risco, Mo., Bobby Thompson, of St. Louis, Mo., James Thompson, of Waynesboro, Tenn., Jimmy Thompson, of Dexter, Mo., Larry Thompson, of Troy, Mo., Drew Thompson, of Florence, Ala., and Charles Ray Thompson, of Caldwell, Mo.; four grandchildren, Kodi Kinnard, of Kennett, Mo., K.C. Hasting Carter, Sea Island, Calif., Danielle Terrill, of Bernie, Mo., and Westley Carter, of Bernie; and one great-grandchild, Hunter Kinnard, of Kennett.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Coy and Jerry Thompson, and a sister, Leta Joyce Thompson.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home at Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2007, at the Bradshaw Chapel, with Rev. Jack Allen and Rev. Mark Powell officiating.
Burial will be in the Rosewood cemetery at Malden.
