J.C. Tinnin

Joseph Campbell "J.C." Tinnin, 86, of Hornersville, Mo., died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born Oct. 15, 1921, in Hornersville, son of the late Leonard and Willie Shelton Tinnin, he was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran, having served in WWII. He was employed for the State of Missouri and was a member of the Methodist Church in Hornersville, American Legion Post 362 and the Masons.

On July 16, 1941, in Hornersville, he married Iona Marie Gooch, who survives.

Survivors also include two sons, Charles Tinnin, of Kentucky and Denny Tinnin and wife, Linda, of Sikeston, Mo.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two children, Carol Tinnin and Eddy Tinnin; five brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the Bradshaw-Emerson Funeral Home in Hornersville.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 8, at the Methodist Church in Hornersville with the Rev. Jim Pemberton officiating.

Burial will follow in the Horner Cemetery.
