Vernia Louise Savage, 80, of Blue Springs, Miss., formerly of Gideon, Mo., died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at her residence.

Born Aug. 6, 1927, in Portageville, Mo., daughter of the late William Chester and Elga Lizabell Pattillo Harris, she was employed at Plastene Manufacturing and was a member of the Nazarene Church in Wardell, Mo.

On Jan. 8, 1943, in Portageville, she married Jesse Lee Savage, who preceded her in death on May 6, 2001. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Fielder and Chesteen Chappell and one granddaughter, Alicia Carnell.

Survivors include six daughters, Joyce Bradley, of Cleveland, Texas, Paula Fooshee and Lorie Ann Seger, both of Blue Springs, Charlotte Dill and Gwen Carnell, both of Jackson, Tenn., and LaDonna Rice, of Glendale, Ariz.; one sister, Karnese Thompson, of Kennett; three brothers, Aubrey Harris, of Kennett and Everett and Doil Harris, both of Houston, Texas; 27 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., today, Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Gideon, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Thompson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton, Mo.
