Joseph L. Taylor

Joseph L. Taylor, 48, of Jefferson City, Mo., died on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, at the Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.

Born on Dec. 18, 1958, in Hayti, Mo., son of Rev. Henry Lee Taylor and Jettie F. Bette Taylor, he was a graduate of Hayti High School, briefly attended Missouri Baptist College in St. Louis, Mo, and was a member of the Central Baptist Church of Hayti and Second Baptist Church of Jefferson City.

Survivors include his mother, Jettie F. Bette Taylor, three brothers, Rev. William J. Walker and wife, Bobbie, of Milwaukee, Wis., Minister Edward Taylor and wife, Carol, of Jefferson City, and Henry Taylor, Jr. of Detroit, Mich.; three sisters, Iva Presberry and husband, Richard, of Jefferson City, Phyllis Smith of St. Louis, and Jettie Taylor Robinson of Fairfield, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Henry Lee Taylor.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 30 at Second Baptist Church in Jefferson City which will conclude with a prayer service by Rev. Cornell C. Sudduth.

Local visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m., at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ at Hayti, Mo.

Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 31 at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Hayti.

John W. German Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of Jefferson City arrangements.
