Audra Alice Sowell, 95, of Kennett, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, at Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett.

Born Aug. 14, 1912, in Caruth, Mo., daughter of the late J.E. and Vivian Porterfield Pitts, she was a member of the Friendship Baptist church.

On March 14, 1931, she married Virgil Crafford, who preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1936. She later married Freemon Sowell on Jan. 21, 1939. He preceded her in death on September 10, 1998. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, J.M. and Lynn Earl Pitts and three sisters, Rosella Martin, Mabel Harris and Virginia Pitts.

Survivors include three nephews, Lanny Joe Pitts, of Black Canyon City, Ariz., Ronel Paul Harris and Jimmy Paul Pitts, both of Kennett and four nieces, Betty Shearer and Peggy Osmer, both of Kennett, Faye Rohr, of Imperial, Mo., and Marla Poe, of St. Louis, Mo.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 18, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 18, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chris Maynard officiating.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
