Velma Louise Bright, 79, of Wardell, Mo., died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2007, at the Heritage Nursing Home in Kennett.
Born Aug. 3, 1928, in Marianna, Ark., daughter of the late Opera and Jessie Frank Wilson Moore, she was a homemaker and a member of the River View Baptist Church in Homestown, Mo.
She married Solomon Bright, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, L.T. Moore and Mary Frances Walters and two brothers-in-law.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Frances Bell and husband, Isaac, of Homestown; one grandson, Clarence Hampton, of Homestown; eight great-grandchildren, Isaac Dewayne Bryant, of Wichita, Kan., Velma Louise, Clarence and Dominic Bryant, all of Homestown, Clarence Hampton, Jr., of Kentucky, Mary Ann Meadows and Jessica Louise Hampton, both of Humboldt, Tenn., and Angela Ryan, of Memphis, Tenn.; a host of step-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 6:30 p.m., today, Friday, Sept. 28, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Wardell.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, at the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Homestown with the Rev. Reginald Grant officiating.
Burial will follow in the Homestown Cemetery at Wardell.
