Kevin Abbott and Sherry Banks of Kennett were married at 5 p.m., Friday, Aug. 17, at the Rector General Baptist Church in Rector, Ark., with Marston Carpenter officiating. A reception followed at the church

The bride is the daughter of Ronnie and Ruth Hicks of Rector and the granddaughter of the late A.J. and Hazel Riddell formerly of Malden, Mo., and the late William P. and Clearcy Hicks formerly of Clarkton, Mo.

She is currently employed as a sales associate with Wal-Mart in Kennett.

The groom is the son of Dwight and Barbara Abbott of Kennett and the grandson of the late Everett and Bertha Hindmon formerly of Rives, Mo., the late R.B. Abbott formerly of Deering, Mo., and the late Mildred Abbott formerly of Hamilton, Ala.

He is currently employed as a telephone service representative with Independent Home Pharmacy.

The maid of honor was Dorthina Vancil of Risco, Mo., and the bridesmaids were Joyce Denning and Xena Denning both of Gideon, Mo., Lila Vancil, Ruthie Vancil and Claire Hicks all of Risco and Jessica Oldham of Kennett.

Best man was James Hindmon, brother of the groom, of Kennett. Groomsmen were Jeremy Wright and Seth Oldham both of Kennett and David Denning of Gideon.

After a honeymoon to Branson, Mo., the couple now reside in Kennett.
