Jackie "Jack" Connell, 65, of Kennett, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Born Aug. 28, 1942, in Glenwood, Iowa, son of the late Elayne Parks, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in Vietnam, where he earned a Bronze Star. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service and Maco Property Management and was a member of the VFW No. 5443.

On Feb. 6, 1965, in Washington D.C., he married Brenda Wilmoth, who survives.

Survivors also include two daughters, Elizabeth Connell and Cynthia Connell Turner, both of Amarillo, Texas; one sister, Sandra Filkins, of Goodland, Kan., and one grandchild, Sarah Connell Guelzow, of Amarillo.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., today, Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Spencer Furby officiating.

Pallbearers are Jerry Ward, Donnie Pool, Ray Sawyer, Darrell Sherrill, Phillip Greenway and John Lyles.

Honorary pallbearers were VFW No. 5443 and Corkey Davis.
