Ora Venada Johnson, daughter of the late William J. and Cora A. Meyers Rhodes, was born May 4, 1916, in Grassey, Mo., and passed away Sept. 12, 2007, at her residence in Senath, Mo., at the age of 91.
She was married to Chester Ray "Check" Johnson, who preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 1955. She was also preceded in death by twin daughters, Marilyn Kaye and Veneda Faye; four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include three daughters, Lady Callahan and husband, Joe, of Senath, Shirley Keune, of Florissant, Mo., and Carol Buck and husband, John, of Versailles, Mo.; one brother, Curtis Quentin Rhodes and wife, Myrtle, of Alma, Ark.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by very special friends, Evelyn Small and Myrtle Crews and many others too numerous to mention.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Friday, Sept. 14, at the Lulu Baptist Church near Senath with the Rev. J.E. Crews officiating.
Burial was in the Lulu Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Josh Payne, Dustin Martin, Michael and Brady Buck and Miles and Jerad Callahan.
Honorary pallbearer was Caleb Callahan, who is now serving in Iraq.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath was in charge of arrangements.
