Mary Ruth Johnson, 90, of Leachville, Ark., died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born in Hornersville, Mo., daughter of the late William and Leona Ragsdale, she taught school in the Leachville Public School system, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Leachville, a former member of the Mississippi County Hospital board, a member of the Leachville Chapter C, P.E.O. Sisterhood and was a librarian for the Leachville branch of the Mississippi County Library system.
She married Virgil S. Johnson, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, Jerry Max Johnson.
Survivors include one son, John A. Johnson and wife, Myrna, of Sikeston, Mo.; two daughters, Sandra Kennett and husband, Ronnie, of Leachville and Sherry Masner and husband, Joe, of Jonesboro, Ark.; six grandchildren, Tommy John Kennett, of Jonesboro, Ron Kennett, of Jefferson, Ga., Jeff Johnson and Jennifer Wells, both of Memphis, Nathan Sanders and Marshall Wildy, both of Leachville and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 13, at the First Baptist church in Leachville with the Rev. Rudy Davis officiating.
Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tommy John, Ron, Tommy and Chris Kennett, Jeff Johnson, Marshall Wildy, Murray Wells and Nathan Sanders.
Honorary pallbearers were Keith Kennett, Jacob and Evan Sanders, Jeb Wells and John Parker and Jack Johnson.
Howard Funeral Home of Leachville was in charge of arrangements.
