May Bell Laster, 51, of Hayti, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007, at Kennett.
Born Sept. 20, 1955, in Sikeston, Mo., daughter of the late William and Itell Mills McCormick, she was co-owner of the Transmission Shop in Hayti, manager of Bill's Dollar Store in Hayti and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Hayti.
Survivors include three children, Chris Hobbs, of Knob Noster, Mo., and Tina Owen and Kim Smith, both of Kennett; brothers and sisters, Terry McCormick, Gladys Lieurance, Shela Mays, Jane Jones and Deborah Arnold, all of Sikeston, Mo., Bill McCormick, of Monroeville, Texas, Cecil McCormick, of Marion, Ill., Rodger McCormick, of Sulphur, La., Leslie McCormick, of Ocale, Fla., David McCormick, of Decatur, Ill., Della Granger, of Summertown, Tenn., Monica Nelson, of Vinemont, Ala., and Sherry Butram, of Barnhart, Mo., and three grandchildren, Amory Smith, Whitman Owen and Wesley Hobbs.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 2, at the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti with Father Allen Saunders officiating.
Burial was in the Dry Bayou Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Christopher, Steve and J.J. Hobbs, Christopher Lytle, Jason Hurst and Nathan Owen.
