Charles Franklin Pitts, 63, of Campbell, Mo., died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, at John J. Pershing Veteran's Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Born May 5, 1944, in Campbell, MO., son of the late Roy Gobel and Imogene Marjorie Abney Pitts, he was a U.S. veteran, a forklift operator and a member of the Church of Christ in Campbell.

On July 24, 1965, in Poplar Bluff, he married Katherine Dalton, who survives.

Survivors also include one son, Kevin Pitts, of Campbell; one daughter, Melissa Rickman, of Piggott, Ark.; his step-mother, Myrtle Pitts, of Campbell; one sister, Phyllis Arnold, of Poplar Bluff; two step-sisters, Brenda Billings, of Memphis, Tenn., and Louise Wagster, of Campbell; one step-brother, Joe Weeks, of Wichita, Kan., and four grandchildren, Curtis Rickman, of Campbell and Erica and Matthew and Josh Pitts, all of Piggott.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Danny Pitts.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Sept. 3, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell.

Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery-Landess Addition at Campbell.
